Shannon

Shannon, MAAT, ATR-BC (She/her) is a board certified art therapist who received her masters in art therapy from Vermont College of Norwich University. She has been a practicing art therapist for over 25 years specializing in working with children and teens. Shannon spent 20 years at the University of Michigan Health Care Systems working in pediatrics and with adults both in the hospital and outpatient settings. As executive director of the Art Therapy Studio in Cleveland, Shannon worked with partnering agencies designing and supervising art therapy programs tailored to the varied needs of each individual agency's clients. Shannon's work in gender identity began while working inpatient pediatrics with children who are born intersex and expanded to the transgender community while raising two gender-expansive children. Shannon is the co-author of the recently published book, "Art Therapy with Transgender and Gender-Expansive Children and Teenagers". Shannon specializes in providing art therapy that adapts to the cognitive, physical and emotional abilities of her clients to achieve personal goals. Shannon works with both youth and adults.
