Executive Director (Part-Time)

Lakewood, Ohio
Approximately 20 Hours per Week / $50 per Hour

Colors+ is seeking a part-time Executive Director to lead the organization and work closely with the Board of Directors to support its mission, programs, and long-term success.

Colors+ provides affirming programs, resources, and support for LGBTQIA+ youth, families, and the broader community. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the organization, including fundraising, finances, operations, programs, staff supervision, and community relationships.

This is a hands-on leadership position in a small nonprofit environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day responsibilities and will work closely with the Board, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, grant management, donor stewardship, sponsorships, and special events.

  • Oversee the organization's finances, budgeting, and financial reporting.

  • Manage day-to-day operations and administrative functions.

  • Work with the Board of Directors to support organizational goals, planning, and governance.

  • Supervise staff, interns, and volunteers.

  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, funders, schools, community organizations, and other partners.

  • Represent Colors+ at community meetings, events, and outreach activities.

  • Support the continued growth and effectiveness of organizational programs and services.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree preferred.

  • Three to five years of nonprofit leadership, management, fundraising, program administration, or related experience.

  • Experience writing, managing, and reporting on grants.

  • Experience with budgeting, fundraising, and staff supervision.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Knowledge and understanding of LGBTQIA+ youth issues and a commitment to creating affirming and inclusive environments.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, donor management systems, and QuickBooks or similar financial software preferred.
